Here are some quick tips that you could consider when creating your CV.

Format
  • Font Size: 10 to 12 points
  • Font Style: Arial or Calibri (Use the same font throughout)
  • Have a Consistent Format
  • Items to bold include Name, Headings and content that is most relevant to the position
  • Use appropriate tease to present your experience
Length & Sequence
  • Limit your resume in 1 to 2 pages
  • Write your background and experience in reverse chronological order - i.e. the most recent first
Structure
  • List all dates along the same side, right side preferred
  • Describe your accomplishments in bullet points
  • Be mindful of the use of action verbs that should present a proactive tone
  • Avoid using text boxes or tables that make your CV difficult to scan for keywords

  • Start with the highest and the most recent qualification
  • Include the experience of academic exchange, if any
  • List out relevant coursework if you don’t have much hands-on experience

  • Describe your key responsibilities and achievements in maximum of 6 bullet points for each experience

  • Mention it in a range and remark it as “Negotiable”
